Why stuff for college should be free.

I believe college books should be free. I also believe Dorm rooms should be free. I believe living on campus should not have to cost you anything. Think about it, lets say York College dorm rooms were free, they would have so much more people coming to their school rather then commuting or choosing a different school. It costs a lot just to stay at school, but if they changed that they would have more money to spend to build new rooms, and expand their school.
I believe books should be free too, because its ridiculous to pay $300 for a book, the teacher tells you you'll need, and you never use it! It's not fair when you sell it back and get $75. That's not right at all, colleges are just finding ways to make you open your wallet and give it to them.
If dorm rooms and books were free I'm sure we all could go to a bigger college because we would have that extra cash to spend of admission and classes. Just spending that $300 on a book I could get another credit at HACC, but yet you couldn't because of that expensive book you'll never use.
I'm sick of colleges making you pay for things you shouldn't have to. Dorm rooms should be free since you have to furnish them anyway, and books should be free since you give them back almost always anyway.

Is open admission policy at HACC a good or bad thing?

I believe the open admission policy is a good thing. The open admission is a good thing because, it gives everyone an equal chance. It's also a good thing because, if you are an older student who has a family and can not leave them, it is easier to go here.

The open admission policy is a good reason because, it gives everyone an equal chance. Giving everyone an equal chance is good because, the other local colleges around PA need a specific GPA, and other things to get into the school.
For families with a parent going to school it is easier for them to go to HACC and not move, then to spend more money and go to a bigger college. It's good for the parents, and children.

The bad reason is also they give everyone an equal chance. It's also a bad reason because, it lets everyone in, even the people who do not do good. The people who do not try could hurt the schools standings in performance. Another bad reason is it also takes money from people who will not succeed. It also is a bad reason because the classes that people need to graduate fill up quickly because of how many people are coming in. There are so many people now that specific classes, and teachers fill up to quickly for anyone trying to finish their degree.

I think the open admission policy is a good thing because it gives everyone a equal opportunity, and it's also good for the families with parents in school.

Privacy is a good thing.

Privacy is a good thing, I know when it comes to my belongings, or anything I love my privacy. I don't like when people go through my things, in my room, or on my phone. I'm a very private person towards stuff like that. I can not imagine what being a celebrity would be like. Take Tiger Woods for example, everything he has gone through with the mistresses, and sex rehab. He never had a moment that was to himself, everyone knows about his whole life. If I was in Tiger's shoes and going to rehab for anything, I know I would not want anyone knowing why I was there. Tiger on the other hand had no choice, people followed him, and photographed him. He couldn't get away. I believe people should have their own privacy rights. Tiger is a professional golfer, but it's not like he asked for people to stalk him and take pictures of him. He just does what he loves and gets paid for it. He's job doesn't call for all the attention off the course, but yet everyone follows him.
Also take Britney Spears, and Kevin Federline. Britney and Kevin were going through their divorce and there was so much media coverage over it. Headlines read "Who will keep the kids?", and "What Happened to the Couple?". If I were to go through a divorce I would not want everyone reading what was going on in my life, as if it isn't hard enough to face your problems as is, everyone else is talking about them. Privacy should be up to the people their talking about. They should have to ask before they take pictures, post pictures, write about them, anything. Even small families are sometimes in the news, maybe because of a homicide. If it isn't hard enough for them to go through with what happened, their life stories are put in the local newspapers. It's not right for reporters to say, and do what they do. They wouldn't like being followed, and written about.

Video Game Violence.

Video game violence in the past ten years has risen to a new time high. The ratings on games are Mature, Teen, Everyone. The mature, and teen are the worst. They have high graphic blood and gore. You can kill people, rape, and just about anything else. They are disgusting things for children to watch, and or play. If I had children I would not let them even watch the commercials. They are so graphic even in their commercials. They show killings, explosions, and more.
If we wanted the world to be a safer, less complicated place why would we put our younger generation in front of a television set and let them play these games? It's not a good thing to have these games out for anyone to get their hands on. Parents will go into the store, buy their children the mature game, and let them play it with no problems about it. It's not right. I believe that video games should dim down their violence and bring out stuff that does not have so much of it. If this were to happen then maybe we wouldn't have so many murders, car thefts, and whatever else these video games are showing to our children.
I do believe video games are at cause for whats going on around cities. They have an effect on some people, that may want to harm others. If they can do it in a game, why not in real life? I know I've played some games that were way to graphic, and it just disgusted me. I couldn't kill a person, let alone an animal in the game, but some people can do this stuff in real life. I believe video games encourage them to do it more.
